Tapachula, Chiapas; December 10, 2021.- This Friday the last buses provided by the National Migration Institute (INM) left in order to move thousands of migrants to ten states in the country, after the deadline agreed by the federal authorities ended; although more of 50 thousand are still waiting.
This Friday at the facilities of the Ecological Park, located in the south of the city, hundreds of Latino migrants from Central America, Venezuela and Cuba finally left the city and are been moved to other entities, but many others said they could not even reached a seat on the buses.
In the other hand, some migration agents, who were responsible of the management of migrants in the units, pointed out that there are lists of people until January 8th, but it all depends on their bosses who can reactivate the program the following year.
Federal agents commented that the bus service is a support that the authorities are giving, for which they asked that migrants should not demand to be moved whenever they want.
Another reason why this service has been suspended is because society do not want the transfers to be made in the facilities of the City Theater and the Planetarium, in order to avoid the presence of foreigners.
However, there was a large group of people wanting to leave in buses as soon as possible, therefore, they asked the immigration agents for seats but they told them there was no more information about it.
So that is why they desperately seek to leave, as well as the Haitians, who have placed on the Ecological Park waiting for more buses.
Some migrants who found the dialogue were informed that the government will begin to issue exit letters in the next few days – according to the foreigners’ version – but they will have to pay for their tickets to the cities assigned to them. EL ORBE /
