Haitian Migrants Evicted From the Olympic Stadium of Tapachula

* With Heavy Machinery they cleaned the Esplanade.

Tapachula, Chiapas; December 10, 2021.- On Friday, authorities of the National Institute of Migration (INM) evicted thousands of Haitian migrants who remained in the Tapachula Olympic Stadium waiting for buses to being moved to other 10 states.
From the early hours of the day, elements of the National Guard (GN), as well as state and local police, evicted the foreigners who remained on the forecourt of the sports facilities.
Meanwhile other groups of migrants -who had already organized-, were moved in buses from that place, which was used as a migrant camp for almost a month. The uniformed GN, with anti-riot equipment, guarded the perimeter of the Stadium during the movings.
At the same time, the local authorities sent heavy machinery to remove the camp, trash and the metal fences that were used during that time.
Since Monday, another group of about 10,000 migrants has remained on the side of the bypass highway, waiting for buses to be moved to other states in the country.
Foreigners have placed their backpacks and have improvised small tents on the side of the road to protect themselves from the high temperatures.
They have formed a kilometer long line waiting for buses to take them to other regions in the country, although they have already been warned that no more buses will arrive. EL ORBE /
